Chinamist's remixes remain No. 1
One of the great casualties of the shutdown of Stage6 and its big-picture and big-sound DivX video system was Chinamist, the amazing remixer whose work is world-class. But there is good news: Chinamist's videos are still available, sprinkled around the Internet, with a large repository on YouTube. Rad's top five Chinamist remixes follow:
Notice how Chinamist either speeds up or slows down the video playback speed to synchronize precisely with the superimposed music. The strange one of the group is Buono! and the great Judy and Mary classic, "Radio," in which is looks as if the dance is already at the right speed. What's interesting about the Buono! remix is that the dance is one single take, no edits, and Chinamist still manages to pull it off. Amazing!
